Fun, personal project creating a digital peper-cut look for this year's Chinese New Year – The Year of The Tiger. Paper-cuts are a very traditional medium for this holiday. Every year, the paper-cuts show the animal associated with that year from the Chinese Zodiac and they are always cut out of red paper. For my version I wanted to bring two more auspicious colors: gold and green. The teal green color also ties in with the color of water since 2022 is associated with the water tiger. I even animated one of the versions to make the tiger come to life. The whole piece including the handlettering was done in Procreate.
